Our Postal Operations are guided by Universal Postal Union (UPU) directives and regulations, set by the Council of Administration and reviewed every four years at Congress.
Sierra Leone Postal Service has been part of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) since 29th January 1961, (ISO Code 3166/Alpha-2:SL), with Headquarters in Bern, Switzerland.
Sierra Leone Postal Service is also a committed member of the Regional Postal Union of African Countries, with Headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania.
The Pan African Postal Union (PAPU) coordinates regional projects for African Postal Designated Operators through AU, UPU and other development partners.
WAPCO shall be a sub regional body to the Pan African Postal Union (PAPU) for the articulation, promotion development and implementation of the Regional / Universal Strategic objectives of Posts and Postal related issues as may be directed by the African Union Commission or agreed at the Universal Postal Union

The West African Monetary Agency (WAMA) is an autonomous and specialised agency of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). It was established in 1996 as a result of the transformation of the West African Clearing House (WACH).
